SS:039 Sketchbooks and Doodles

As the year turned I was spending quality time with family and friends in Milwaukee, WI. Considering how short my holiday break was going to be I didn't see much of a point in bringing a large quantity of studio materials home with me. Luckily I still had Riverpoint paper, made at UWSP, stored at my mom's house and whipped up two small 4" x 6" sketchbooks which accompanied me in the hotel in Milwaukee over New Years weekend. Take a peek at the video below to see each page of the sketchbook and hear a short narration about the inspiration behind the imagery. Enjoy!

I enjoyed these small sketches so much I've been making new illustrations before bed since. Here are a few examples:

If you're interested in collecting these illustrations I've listed them on Etsy under a new shop just for illustrations : etsy.com/shop/joojoobeee

I chose the name JooJooBeee because it was a nickname my family had for me when I was kid and I always liked the way it sounds. I'm a junior so that's where it started. Beyond it's nostalgia the name has always had the power to put me back into my childlike self again which aligns well with the illustrative style these are in. Anyway I hope your new year is off to a great start and I can't wait to share more work with you in the near future!

Also I'm posting these illustrations on Instagram if you want to follow the account: @joo.joo.beee

Thanks for reading!
