This painting was made during the 2023 PleinAirTexas festival in San Angelo, TX. The Cactus Hotel downtown is a historic building in the heart of San Angelo. The color of the building reminded me of some of my favorite Antonio Lopez Garcia paintings in Madrid so I really wanted to paint it. I waited to start this painting until a few days after I was in San Angelo. I passed this view a few times near the Verde Gallery where our canvases were stamped. I really liked the dramatic perspective the brick wall gave the composition. Breaking the city buildings into abstract lines and shapes was really interesting and gives the painting a timeless effect that I really enjoy. 
 
This painting is currently unvarnished (will be suitable for varnish if desired after April 2024). Will ship wrapped in plastic in a cardboard box.
