This painting was made from observation during a backpacking trip along the Ice Age Trail in early May. This tree was standing close to our campsite. I was the first one up around the site in the morning (a rare occurence) so I spent some time getting to know the contrasts in the trunk of the tree. It was a really enjoyable painting to make!
 
The painting is available for purchase unframed or framed for an additional cost ($50). A similar frame to the one shown in the images will be made to order.
